Eligibility Criteria of SSC MTS Recruitment 2023
Educational Qualification :
Applicants must have passed the Matriculation Examination (10th) or its equivalent at an accredited school by the deadline, i.e.
Age Limit :
18-25 years (i.e., applicants born not before 02/01/1998 and not later than 01/01/2005) for MTS and Havaldar in the CBN (Ministry of Finance).
18-27 years (i.e. applicants born not before 02/01/1996 and not later than 01/01/2005) for Havaldar in CBIC (Ministry of Finance) and some posts of MTS.
Age Relaxation:
The upper age limit is relaxable :
(i) By 5 years for SC /ST candidates,
(ii) by 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates

SSC MTS & Havaldar Selection Process
The examination consists of a computerised examination, a physical performance test (PET), and a standard physical test (PST) (for the Havaldar position only).
SSC MTS Recruitment 2023 Exam Pattern
The computer-based examination is conducted in Hindi, English, and 13 regional languages, namely, (i) Assamese, (ii) Bengali, (iii) Gujarati, (iv) Kannada, (v) Konkani, (vi) Malayalam, (vii) Manipuri, (viii) Marathi, (ix) Odia, (x) Punjabi, (xi) Tamil, (xii) Telugu, and (xiii) Urdu.
The computer-based examination will be conducted in two sessions: Session-I and Session- II and both sessions must be completed. Failure to attend any session will disqualify the applicant.
The computer-based examination consists of objective multiple-choice questions. Questions are asked in English, Hindi, and 13 regional languages.
In Session-I, there is no negative marking. In Session- II, each incorrect answer is given a negative mark.

General Awareness:
The exam covers social studies (history, geography, arts and culture, civics, economics), general science, and environmental studies through 10th grade.
Numerical and Mathematical Ability:
It contains questions on problems related to integers and whole numbers, LCM and HCF, decimals and fractions, relationships between numbers, basic arithmetic and BODMAS, percentage, ratio and proportion, work and time, direct and inverse proportion, averages, simple interest, profit and loss, discount, area and perimeter of basic geometric figures, distance and time, lines and angles, interpretation of simple diagrams and data, square and square roots, etc.
Reasoning Ability and Problem Solving:
The questions in this section are intended to measure the general learning ability of the candidates. The questions are broadly related to alphanumeric series, encoding and decoding, analogy, following directions, similarities and differences, jumbling, problem solving and analysis, nonverbal reasoning using diagrams, age calculations, calendars and clocks, etc.
English Language and Comprehension:
Candidates’ understanding of the basics of the English language, its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and correct usage, etc., and to test understanding, a simple paragraph may be given and a question asked about that paragraph.
